I’m very pleased to announce our third child was born last week. My labor and recovery has been made so much easier with the support of my husband, our midwife, our doula, and the lactation consultant who made a very urgent house call.
(I’ll note that only one of those last three medical support people was covered by our insurance, due to the very strange ways we differentiate care.)
But on to the baby picture.
I’ve been tracking two growth curves this fall and spring, with two nearly identical deadlines. The baby is out, but the book still needs to be turned in.
It’s a real pleasure to have this community to think with as I’ve been working. Writing a book can get a little lonely and claustrophobic, but you’ve given me a real sense of spaciousness.
And for those of you who support Other Feminisms with a subscription, thank you for helping me turn down other paid work to take on this big project and/or covering the cost of some childcare + coffee shop pastries.
I’m in the last stretch for the book / first days with the baby, so Other Feminisms will be a little quieter until July. I plan to share a few good quotes from my recent readings.
Congratulations on your precious baby!
Congratulations x2!
