After years of navigating section 8 housing for women in our shelter I wrote a 12 page piece on the process for senator brown's office entitled "why section 8 for all is doomed to fail," outlining the essential blanketing of our region with vouchers and the refusal of landlords to take them, with good reason. I was told by my contact at the senator's office " we could never publish this piece because it would give conservatives fuel," and my response was "im not trying to fuel anyone, just get a voucher system that ends with recipients being housed"
